FRMD Landscape Violations

Dear Solterra Neighbor:

One of the landscaping assets of our community is the native common areas.  It is integrated into the design and makes a significant statement.  The major advantage of the native is that it is a low maintenance landscaping option.  However, it does require occasional re-seeding.  The District landscape committee has identified some areas that they would like to re-seed.   Unfortunately, damage has been done to some of these areas and until current resident behavior stops, re-seeding will not take place.

Please consider the following as educational and a request for cooperation:  When residents take it upon themselves to mow, spray weed killer, dump trash or discharge water on to the common areas, it crosses the line from “neighborly maintenance” into the potential for legal consequences.  Our common areas are legally owned by the Fossil Ridge Metropolitan District.  Individual residents do not have the right to alter them, including using common areas for access to their property for landscape or home improvements.

Again, please consider this a request for your cooperation.  Our common areas need your care and respect.  We currently have significant damage from resident abuse.  The District, not the HOA, is responsible for enforcing violations and we will notify you with remediation steps if violations continue.
