Living in Solterra

Social Groups

We are a group of approximately 100+ dedicated and influential women who are making a difference in our community through impact giving. Our meetings are held on the first Wednesday of February, May, August, and November at 6:00pm at the Retreat. At each meeting, three non profits showcase their organization. Each person who has joined 100+ Women Who Care Solterra gives $100 at each of the four yearly meetings. The people who attend the meeting vote to determine the winning non profit. We gladly welcome new members!

If you have any questions, please email us at solterra100women@gmail.com or find us on Facebook at 100+ Women Who Care - Solterra.

The Empty Nester Wine Downs are held bi-monthly on the third Wednesday of even months, with the exception December, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Retreat. Each event is organized by a group of volunteers who set up beforehand and clean up at the end. Some volunteers choose to have a theme and add decorations, but this is totally up to the volunteer group. The first Monday in December is a Holiday Party at 240 Union, owned by a Solterra resident. The restaurant is closed to accommodate our group of up to 100 attendees.

All are welcome, especially new homeowners! We have nametags to help our memories, and we encourage you to meet new neighbors. Updates and reminders of the Wine Downs are emailed to all Empty Nesters. To be added to the reminder emails please contact us at the above Gmail address. Attendees of the Wine Downs from February through October are asked to bring an appetizer, snack, or dessert to share (approximately 8 to 10 servings), plus your personal beverage of choice.

All members are welcome to join the Solterra Empty Nesters Facebook group. Posts are not public! All members may post photos of wine downs and pertinent group information.

Contact Phil or Mat for more details, to be added to the email list, and to buy a fitness punchcard.

The Solterra Book Club meets the first Friday of every month at 11:00 A.M. at The Retreat. It's a great group of people and it's always an interesting discussion of the month's book.

We send around a sign-up sheet at the end of each year. This gives members the opportunity to pick a book for the month they'd like to recommend and to facilitate the meeting. It's really fun to hear what other people like to read and it opens doors to books you might never have heard of or would normally pass over.

Here is the list of books we will be covering until the end of the year.

  • 10/3/25 - James by Percival Everett
  • 11/7/25 - The Boomerang by Robert Bailey
  • 12/5/25 - Annual Book Club Lunch

If you like to read and want to meet some wonderful people, please join us! You can contact Cindy Licht (cjlicht721@gmail.com) to be put on the email list.

Solterra Sole Sisters is a group of women who live in Solterra and enjoy walking, running, and hiking - generally being active outdoors. An inaugural fun run was held in August 2024 and since then the group has developed into a vibrant club comprised of women who enjoy a variety of sole-focused pursuits. At the core is a safe and supportive community of friends who share a passion of being active and enjoy our beautiful surroundings. This group is all about fun, friendship, and personal growth without negativity or judgment and it is free to be a member.

Solterra Sole Sisters has several opportunities for you to get involved! We host a weekly meetup on Tuesday leaving the Retreat at 8am to walk/hike/run the neighborhood paths or Green Mountain trails. We also get together on the second Saturday of each month at 8am, this location changes so please save the date on your calendar but check the website in advance for more details. In between the regularly scheduled events, we participate in local 5K and 10K walk/run events, members post details for impromptu Show N Go meetups on our Facebook page, and we’ve celebrated the seasons with a Fall leaf peeping hike, a holiday lights walk/happy hour and more. With new members joining regularly and fresh adventures always in the works, we can’t wait to see where our soles take us next – won’t you join us?

Please contact Marguerite Slavik at 303-889-9614 or marguerite.slavik@gmail.com with any questions or for more information. Additionally, you can request membership on Facebook, visit our group Solterra Sole Sisters.

The Social Committee plans community for social events. Such events help homeowners get to know each other and build a sense of community. The work put in by the social liaisons to generate a more active, involved, and friendly community, creates a greater sense of unity and understanding among the homeowners.

For information about planned events, please see the Social Committee information under Committees.
